An exhibition by four celebrated, experienced young artists opens at the Barefoot Gallery on Wednesday, 14th at 7:30pm.
The image that you see here is by Sujeewa Kumari.
The other artists represented in this group exhibition are:
- Manoranjan Herath
- Vajira Gunawardena
- Sanjeewa Kumara
Do come, to what I anticipate will be an exciting and interesting exhibition. These four artists have something to say, and it’s vital that we support our local art scene, whatever the medium or format.
“Art is a human activity consisting in this, that one man consciously, by means of certain external signs, hands on to others feelings he has lived through, and that other people are infected by these feelings and also experience them.
And if men lacked this other capacity of being infected by art, people might be almost more savage still, and, above all, more separated from, and more hostile to, one another”. Leo Tolstoy
maybe that is why great art flourishes in mature societies and is paid little heed to in societies that are finding their way.
